EtherCAT Slave Stack Code Tool is a configuration and code-generation utility for building EtherCAT slave firmware. It allows you to define the device’s object dictionary (CoE), set up PDO mappings and SyncManagers, select mailbox protocols (such as CoE, FoE, and EoE), and configure Distributed Clocks. From this model, the tool generates portable C source code based on the EtherCAT Slave Stack Code and produces a compliant ESI (EtherCAT Slave Information) XML for use with network configuration tools.
Designed to reduce development effort and risk, it includes consistency checks to catch specification and mapping issues early, and offers templates and driver hooks for a range of EtherCAT Slave Controller (ESC) hardware. Engineers can integrate the stack on microcontrollers, FPGAs, or SoCs more quickly, accelerating the delivery of EtherCAT-capable I/O, motion, and embedded automation devices.
EtherCAT Slave Stack Code Tool is developed by Beckhoff Automation GmbH. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 1.1, 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5. The name of the program executable file is SSC Tool.exe.
